Program info
BREEZE CALPUFF, developed by BREEZE, is a comprehensive modeling suite that streamlines the setup, execution, and analysis of the CALPUFF non-steady-state puff dispersion system. It integrates key components such as CALMET, CALPUFF, and CALPOST to handle complex terrain, coastal effects, stagnation/recirculation, time- and space-varying meteorology, and secondary pollutant formation. Designed for environmental professionals, it accelerates air quality assessments with an intuitive interface, robust data management, and powerful visualization tools.
Key features:
- Guided project setup for sources, receptors, terrain, and land use
- Seamless workflow across CALMET, CALPUFF, and CALPOST with scenario management and batch processing
- Support for point, area, line, and volume sources; time-varying emissions; and building downwash
- Wet and dry deposition, visibility, and chemistry options for secondary sulfate and nitrate
- Import of terrain and land-use data and acceptance of WRF-derived meteorology via CALMET
- QA/QC checks and diagnostic reporting to reduce setup errors
- Advanced post-processing: contours, time series, difference plots, and export to GIS/Google Earth formats
Typical applications:
- Long-range transport and complex terrain assessments
- Class I area visibility and deposition analyses
- Permitting and regulatory modeling, including PSD and NEPA-related studies
- Coastal and stagnation/recirculation scenarios
- Industrial, power generation, mining, oil and gas, and transportation projects
